NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday to discuss the evolving situation in West Asia, stressing the urgent need for de-escalation and a return to dialogue and diplomacy.
During the conversation, both leaders exchanged views on regional developments and expressed concern over escalating tensions. Prime Minister Modi underscored the importance of resolving the situation through peaceful means, emphasizing diplomatic engagement to restore stability.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination on regional and global issues. India and France share a strategic partnership and consistently engage on key international issues, including global peace efforts.
In a post on X, Mr. Modi said he and President Macron look forward to continuing their cooperation to advance peace in the region and beyond.
