Saudi Air Defenses Intercept 8 Ballistic Missiles Over Riyadh
Saudi air defenses successfully intercepted eight ballistic missiles launched toward Riyadh, authorities confirmed. The first four missiles were destroyed with debris falling across various parts of the capital, but no injuries or damage were initially reported.
Brig. Gen. Turki Al-Malki, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, stated that initial assessments showed no casualties despite debris landing in multiple locations.
Later, another four missiles were intercepted and destroyed, with debris from one missile falling near a refinery in southern Riyadh. Brig. Gen. Al-Malki confirmed that all interception operations were successful and there were no immediate reports of injuries.
