Russia says global energy market needs its oil

Russian economic envoy Kirill Dmitriev claims the global energy market is fundamentally incapable of maintaining stability without Russia’s supply. Following a U.S. decision to temporarily allow the sale of sanctioned Russian oil currently stranded at sea, Dmitriev stated on Telegram that Washington is "effectively acknowledging the obvious."
The United StatesTreasury recently authorized a 30-day window for countries to purchase Russian petroleum products already in transit to "promote stability" amid soaring prices and Middle East supply disruptions.
While the U.S. framed the move as a strategic necessity to cool the market, Dmitriev argued it serves as a formal admission of Russia’s indispensable role in the global energy sector.
