Repatriation Flights Operate as Qatari Airspace Remains Closed

Qatar Airways is operating a limited flight schedule to and from Hamad International Airport following the temporary closure of Qatari airspace. The airline will resume full operations only after the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirms that it is safe to reopen the airspace. A further update is expected on 9 March.

Under temporary authorization from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Qatar Airways plans to operate the following flights arriving in Doha on 9 March: Amsterdam (AMS), Berlin (BER), Frankfurt (FRA), London (LHR), Zurich (ZRH), and Muscat (MCT). These flights are exclusively for passengers whose final destination is Doha. Tickets can be booked via the Qatar Airways website, app, or travel agents. The airline emphasizes that these flights do not signal a full resumption of scheduled commercial operations.

Passengers are advised not to go to their departure airport unless they hold a valid confirmed ticket.

In addition, Qatar Airways operated repatriation flights on 8 March to Amsterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt, London, and Zurich. Priority was given to stranded passengers, including families, elderly travelers, and those with urgent medical or compassionate travel needs. Seats on these flights were pre-allocated by the airline to affected passengers.

Qatar Airways stated that the safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew remain its top priority and apologized for any inconvenience caused by the ongoing disruption, which is beyond its control.
