Trump Names Rubio and Blair to Gaza ‘Board of Peace’
Washington: The Trump administration has appointed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and former UK prime minister Sir Tony Blair to a new ‘Board of Peace’ for Gaza, part of President Trump’s plan to end the Israel-Hamas war. Chaired by Trump, the board will oversee Gaza’s temporary administration and reconstruction, alongside figures including Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner and World Bank chief Ajay Banga.
The plan has entered a second phase focused on reconstruction and demilitarisation under a fragile ceasefire. A Palestinian technocratic body will manage daily governance, supported by an international stabilisation force, as humanitarian conditions remain severe and Gaza’s future uncertain.
