Texas: A pregame parachute display at the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl took a dramatic turn moments before kickoff when one parachutist became entangled in field goal netting and fell approximately 35 feet to the ground.
Five parachutists were scheduled to land on the field ahead of the Rice vs. Texas State game. However, according to reports, only three landed as planned. One parachutist became caught in the netting attached to the goalpost, while another reportedly landed outside the stadium.
The incident occurred just before the start of the game and drew concern from spectators and officials. The parachutist who fell was able to stand up and walk off the field under his own power.
No further details were immediately available on the cause of the landing error or whether the parachutist required additional medical treatment.
