Deadly Clashes at Youth Protest in Peru
LIMA, Peru – Violence erupted at a youth-led protest in Peru’s capital on Wednesday, leaving one man dead and over 100 people injured, authorities reported.
President Jose Jeri confirmed on social media the death of 32-year-old Eduardo Ruiz Sanz. The Ombudsman’s Office updated the injury count, stating that more than 100 people were hurt during the unrest, revising earlier estimates.
The protest, organized by young activists, turned chaotic as clashes with security forces escalated, highlighting growing tensions in the capital.
