Russia and Ukraine have exchanged 84 prisoners of war from each side, marking the latest in a series of swaps this year that have already freed hundreds.
According to Russia’s defence ministry, the exchange took place on Thursday with mediation from the United Arab Emirates. The ministry added that the freed Russian soldiers are now receiving both medical care and psychological support after returning home.
Such exchanges have become a rare point of cooperation between the two countries since the conflict began, offering hope to families awaiting the return of their loved ones.
