A man armed with a firearm was shot by U.S. Secret Service agents near the White House late Saturday night, officials confirmed. The incident occurred while President Donald Trump was at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

According to Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, the man had been flagged by local authorities as a "suicidal" individual traveling to Washington from Indiana. Around midnight, agents located his parked vehicle near 17th and F Streets, close to the White House, and identified a person matching the provided description.

As officers approached, the man reportedly brandished a firearm, prompting an armed confrontation. Shots were fired by Secret Service personnel, and the suspect was taken to a hospital. His current condition remains unknown. No injuries to Secret Service agents were reported.

Authorities, including the Washington Metropolitan Police, are conducting an investigation into the incident.
