Taylor Swift has achieved a milestone many artists only dream of: she now owns the rights to her entire music catalog. The global pop icon announced the news on her website, revealing that all of the music she has ever made — including music videos, album art, and unreleased tracks — now legally belongs to her.

This accomplishment comes years after Swift publicly opposed the 2019 sale of her master recordings to music executive Scooter Braun’s company. She has since worked to regain control by re-recording her early albums and releasing them as “Taylor’s Version.”

In her statement, Swift shared that she was able to purchase her catalog outright from Shamrock Capital, the private equity firm that had previously acquired her masters. She praised the firm for handling the deal with respect and understanding, calling it an emotional and meaningful moment.

“What I’ve been given is the chance to own my life’s work,” Swift wrote. “These are my memories, my handwriting, and my decades of dreams.”

While four of her six re-recorded albums — Fearless, Red, Speak Now, and 1989 — have already been released to critical and commercial success, Swift revealed that her re-recording of Reputation is not yet complete. However, she confirmed that her debut self-titled album Taylor Swift is ready for release.

She hinted that the final two re-recordings could be released “when the time is right,” and added that any future releases would now be about celebration — not recovery.

Swift also expressed appreciation for her fans and the broader music community, noting that her journey has sparked important conversations about artist ownership across the industry.

“Every time a new artist tells me they fought to own their masters because of this, I’m reminded how necessary this all was,” she wrote.

Now with full ownership, Swift closes one of the most significant chapters in modern music history — on her own terms.
