Emirates Flight Catering Prepares for Massive Operation at Dubai Airshow 2025
When the Dubai Airshow opens on 17 November, Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC) will take on one of its largest-ever event operations, preparing over 300,000 meals for visitors from 98 countries.
As the official caterer for the event, EKFC has built two central kitchens on-site, mobilised 2,600 staff, and coordinated catering across 150 chalets, pavilions, and exhibition stands. More than 35,000 meals have already been pre-booked, with all infrastructure completed in under two weeks.
EKFC CEO Shahreyar Nawabi said the operation highlights how airline catering expertise can be scaled for major international events. “Our culinary diversity allows us to deliver authentic global cuisines while maintaining consistency, quality, and flexibility,” he said. The menu will include dishes from across the world — from French and Middle Eastern specialities to Indian, Chinese, and Japanese cuisines — complemented by seven branded food experiences including Origami, Onda Coffee, Yann Couvreur Pastry, and Dibba Oyster Bar.
The company has also emphasised sustainability, eliminating plastic bottles, composting leftover food, and sourcing from local suppliers such as Dibba oysters and Mai Dubai. EKFC’s workforce includes 74 interns from leading global hospitality schools and UAE universities, gaining hands-on experience in operations, events, and hospitality management.
With a 150,000-meal-per-day capacity at its nearby Dubai World Central facility, EKFC is set to showcase operational excellence and sustainable innovation at the Dubai Airshow 2025.
