flydubai Hits 15.7M Passengers in 2025
flydubai has reported a strong financial performance for the year ending 31 December 2025, posting a pre-tax profit of AED 2.2 billion (USD 591 million). Total revenue rose 6% to AED 13.6 billion (USD 3.7 billion), compared to AED 12.8 billion in 2024. Profit after tax stood at AED 1.9 billion (USD 531 million).
The Dubai-based airline carried a record 15.7 million passengers across 140 destinations, operating 126,604 flights with a 6% increase in capacity. Business Class demand grew 19% over the previous year, driven by both leisure and business travel.
flydubai expanded its network by launching nine new destinations, including Al Alamein (Egypt), Antalya (Türkiye), Nairobi (Kenya), Peshawar (Pakistan), Riga (Latvia), and Vilnius (Lithuania). Operations to Chișinău (Moldova), Damascus (Syria) and Tabriz (Iran) also resumed.
The airline invested heavily in fleet expansion and innovation, taking delivery of 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, retiring three older 737-800s, and completing retrofits on 25 aircraft to enhance passenger experience. At the Dubai Airshow 2025, flydubai announced orders for 150 Airbus A321neos and 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to strengthen its long-term strategy.
flydubai maintained a robust EBITDA of AED 4.0 billion (USD 1.1 billion) and a closing cash balance of AED 5.6 billion (USD 1.5 billion). On-time departures improved by 6% compared to 2024, while fuel accounted for 25% of operating costs.
The airline launched sustainability initiatives, including solar power at its campus, expected to cut 1,211 tonnes of CO₂ annually, and joined United for Wildlife’s Transport Taskforce to combat illegal wildlife trafficking.
Customer experience upgrades included enhanced Economy Class meals and inflight entertainment, along with plans to introduce complimentary high-speed Starlink connectivity in 2026.
flydubai strengthened its workforce with an 11% headcount increase, bringing total employees to 6,763, and launched Ab Initio Pilot and Aircraft Maintenance Apprenticeship programs.
The carrier also strengthened partnerships, including Emirates, expanding connectivity to 243 destinations in 103 countries. It signed 11 new interline agreements, bringing total partners to 42, in addition to existing codeshares with Air Canada, Emirates, and United Airlines.
flydubai’s achievements were recognized with several awards, including “Airline of the Year” at the Aviation Achievement Awards 2025, a Four-Star Major Airline rating from APEX, and recognition as the “Airline with the Best Connectivity in the Middle East.”
