Two Arrested in Bahrain for Misusing Social Media and Posting Sensitive Content

The Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of two individuals for misusing social media and publishing content that could harm public security.

According to the ministry, the Cybercrime Directorate at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security detained two men, aged 20 and 24.

Investigations revealed that one of the suspects recorded and shared a video expressing sympathy with the Iranian aggression, an act authorities described as a betrayal of the nation and a clear violation of its values and principles.

The second individual filmed a video from a military site and posted it on his social media account.

Authorities said both individuals published the videos through their social media platforms in a manner that could negatively impact security and public order.

The Cybercrime Directorate confirmed that legal procedures are ongoing and the suspects will be referred to the Public Prosecution upon completion of the investigation.
