Dubai Airports Unveils Bold 10-Year Vision

Dubai, UAE — Dubai Airports has announced the next chapter in its ambitious accessibility strategy — a decade-long commitment to make Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) the most accessible and inclusive airports in the world by 2035.

The refreshed strategy builds upon years of progress, aiming to elevate the travel experience at every touchpoint while reinforcing Dubai’s position as a pioneer in inclusive travel. It aligns with global best practices, the UAE’s national strategy for the rights of People of Determination (PoD), and Dubai’s long-term vision of becoming a disability-friendly city.

Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports, emphasized the transformative nature of the initiative:

“Our commitment to accessibility is not just a promise; it is a core pillar of our mission to deliver a world-class travel experience for every guest. By working hand in hand with our partners — and for the first time, directly with the People of Determination community — we are reimagining the entire airport journey and redefining what accessible travel means globally.”

‘DXB for All’ – A Campaign That Brings Stories to Life

Coinciding with the strategic rollout is a powerful new awareness campaign titled “DXB for All.” Co-created with People of Determination, the campaign captures authentic, real-life experiences of navigating the world’s busiest airport.

Six personal stories form the heart of the campaign — from a child with sensory sensitivities traveling with his mother, to a deaf traveler communicating through sign language, to a visually impaired guest using tactile pathways, and airport staff assisting passengers with mobility needs.

The campaign expands on Dubai Airports’ earlier initiative, “We All Meet the World Differently” (WAMTWD), launched in 2022, emphasizing that accessibility is more than physical infrastructure — it’s about empathy, awareness, and culture.

“By co-creating this campaign with People of Determination, we are ensuring their voices directly influence how we design, operate, and connect as an airport — with our guests and our wider community,” Al Joker added.

Faces of Inclusion and Inspiration

The “DXB for All” campaign features several well-known advocates, including Emirati accessibility champion Fatma Al Jassim, award-winning consultant and former Paralympic swimmer Jessica Smith, and Yasmin Carey with her son Ellis, who is on the autism spectrum. Other featured individuals include Layth Kamal (autism and ADHD advocate), Mohammed Alghafli (advocate for the visually impaired), and Ahmed Butti (representative of the deaf community).

Collaboration at Every Level

The initiative is being executed in close collaboration with the oneDXB community — an alliance of key stakeholders that includes Emirates, flydubai, Dubai Police, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai Customs, dnata, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, Dubai Taxi Company, Dubai Health, Dubai Duty Free, and Serco.

Together, they are working to ensure that every guest, regardless of their needs, enjoys a seamless, respectful, and empowering airport experience.

Innovative Support for Travelers

Dubai Airports currently provides a wide range of accessibility services — including the Travel Planner, an online visual guide for journey preparation; the Sunflower Lanyard program for discreet assistance; autism-friendly routes; complimentary two-hour parking; dedicated taxis; wheelchair support; hearing loops at over 520 touchpoints; and a quiet, sensory-friendly Assisted Travel Lounge in Terminal 2.

With this new phase, Dubai Airports is setting its sights beyond compliance — toward compassion, innovation, and leadership in inclusive travel.

By 2035, the skies above Dubai won’t just be global — they’ll be accessible to all.
