Bahrain Victorious riders claim dominant win in National Day Endurance Ride Championship

Othman Al Awadhi led a clean sweep of the podium for the Bahrain Victorious team in the National Day Endurance Ride Championship, held yesterday at Bahrain International Endurance Village.

In the presence of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) honourary president, and in conjunction with the Kingdom’s celebrations of National Day and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne, BREEF organised the event with prominent participation from stables and riders.

The championship was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for the Environment deputy chairman, Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club High Committee deputy chairman, and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports member.

On this occasion, BREEF expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser for his continuous support and follow-up to the sport of endurance racing. BREEF affirmed that the wide participation witnessed in the National Day Endurance Ride Championship in all categories confirms the momentum being witnessed by Bahraini endurance sport and the widespread interest of stables and riders in participating in the championships organised by BREEF.

The federation congratulated the winning riders who achieved top positions in the event, praising their outstanding performance throughout the stages and wishing everyone further success and prosperity.

Crowned

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, BREEF president, crowned the champions of the National Day Endurance Ride Championship. Al Awadhi led Victorious team to the top three positions.

He was joined on the winners’ podium by Mohammed Khalid Al Ruwaie, and Isa Hameed Al Anzi. Al Awadhi finished first with a time of four hours, 34 minutes, and 35 seconds. Al Ruwaie followed as runner-up just one second behind, while another second further back was Al Anzi.

Khalifa Jamal from Al Fursan team triumphed in the 120km international race, with his teammate Saud Mubarak finishing in second place. Al Awadhi expressed his immense joy at achieving first place and Victorious team’s successful title-defence, stating that this victory is the result of the support, follow-up, and backing of HH Shaikh Nasser, the Victorious team Captain.
