Neighbourhood stadium opened in Eker

The Daily Tribune –

The Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the General Sports Authority today opened a neighbourhood stadium in Eker, which was constructed with the support of the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK).

The move is in line with the Youth Ministry’s efforts to provide high-quality stadiums across Bahrain's villages and towns.

On the occasion, BBK Group Chief Officer for Human Resources and Administration, Hassan Burshaid, affirmed the bank’s keenness to support initiatives aimed at upgrading the youth and sports sector in the kingdom, in line with its commitment to the principle of community partnership.

He asserted that BBK was among the first supporters of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s initiative to build stadiums across the kingdom’s neighbourhoods.

He expressed delight at the bank’s cooperation with the Youth Ministry in implementing the project, which, he said, will reflect positively on the youth of the Eker region, as it will provide ideal opportunities for them to practise sports and take full advantage of their free time.

It is worth noting that the initiative to build stadiums in Bahrain’s neighbourhoods aims to provide good conditions for Bahraini youth and social segments to practise sports, which will pave the way for honing their skills and discovering talented athletes, and therefore provide national clubs with distinguished players.
