BICW cements Bahrain’s efforts to develop MMA sport internationally: HH Shaikh Khalid

The 2022 edition of BRAVE International Combat Week is set to kick off on Tuesday and will continue until March 12, 2022, featuring exceptional Championships, including BRAVE CF 57 and the MMA Super Cup.

The event will be held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), and will be organised by Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF) in collaboration with the IMMAF and KHK Sports at Khalifa Sports City hall.

On this occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said: “We are pleased to host the new edition of Brave International Combat Week.

We are looking forward to seeing this edition achieving tremendous success, similarly to the events organised in 2017, 2018, and 2019.”

His Highness continued, “The Brave International Combat Week enhances Bahrain’s continuous efforts to advance the MMA sport globally.

In this context, we have introduced the MMA Super Cup which is a testament to Bahrain’s endeavours to take this sport to another level at the international stage,” His Highness Shaikh Khalid added: “Undoubtedly, Bahrain’s organisation of the Brave International Combat Week supports the efforts aimed towards strengthening partnerships with international sports federations and organisations, which confirms that Bahrain is an incubator of all sports.

This international sports gathering contributes to supporting efforts to revitalise sports tourism and enhances Bahrain’s position as a destination for hosting various continental and international events and championships.”

His Highness concluded by saying: “We are waiting for the launch of this great event, welcoming all the athletes participating in this international sports gathering in Bahrain, and wishing all success for our national team’s champions who will be participating in the MMA Super Cup as well as to Hamza Al Kooheji who will be participating in the 57th edition of BRAVE CF Championship.”
