US Stocks Rise on Cooler Inflation
US stock markets climbed on September 30 as cooler-than-expected inflation data and stronger economic growth boosted investor sentiment. The August Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index, the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge, rose 0.3% month-on-month, below the 0.4% forecast, while annual inflation stood at 3.4%. Meanwhile, second-quarter GDP growth was revised sharply higher to 2.2% from 1.5%. Treasury yields eased following the data, with the 10-year yield near 5.23%. Boeing shares gained after securing a major US Navy fighter jet contract, while Robinhood advanced around 5% after unveiling agentic AI trading tools and expanded weekend trading.
