BD79.4m in Government Contracts Awarded

BD79.4 million in government contracts was awarded across Bahrain in June, with 121 tenders covering new deals, renewals and change orders, figures published in the Official Gazette show.

Bapco Upstream took the largest share by value, winning four tenders worth BD14.8m. The Electricity and Water Authority issued more awards than any other public body, with 18 contracts worth BD13.9m, while eight public tenders in the oil sector came to almost BD9.98m.

The Supreme Council of Health awarded four tenders worth BD7.48m, while the Urban Planning and Development Authority had one contract valued at BD4.14m.

Gulf Air Group followed with two awards worth BD3.85m. Al Dana Amphitheatre had one tender worth BD3.5m, while the Industry and Commerce Ministry awarded three worth BD3.2m.

The Works Ministry was among the busiest bodies, handing out 13 contracts worth BD2.89m.

Two tenders from the Finance and National Economy Ministry came to BD1.9m, while the Information and eGovernment Authority awarded three worth BD1.78m.

The National Bureau for Revenue issued one contract worth BD1.49m. Bahrain International Circuit awarded seven tenders worth BD1.39m, and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority five worth BD1.34m.

The Housing and Urban Planning Ministry had one award worth BD1.26m, while five tenders from the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry came to BD1.16m.

Further down the table, the General Sports Authority awarded a contract worth BD998,100 and Gulf Air three worth BD981,900. Bapco Refining issued two awards worth BD728,200.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry had one tender worth BD374,500. The Social Insurance Organisation awarded four worth BD354,200, while Bapco Gas issued three worth BD350,000.

Two contracts from the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry came to BD271,000. The General Poultry Company awarded one worth BD256,300 and Bahrain Airport Company one worth BD232,300.

The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution and Eskan Bank each had a BD198,000 award. The Youth Affairs Ministry issued one worth BD179,300, while the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority had two worth BD167,100.

The Institute of Public Administration awarded a BD150,000 tender and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority two worth BD123,200.

At the lower end of the list, the Civil Service Bureau had awards worth BD72,000, the Health Ministry BD67,800, Primary Healthcare Centres BD58,200, Bahrain Polytechnic BD51,800 and the Education Ministry BD49,800.

The Council of Representatives recorded BD39,000, Bahrain Bourse BD17,500, the Interior Ministry BD17,200 and Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company, Edamah, BD10,300.
