Al Salam Bank Launches 20th Edition of Summer Internship Program
Al Salam Bank has announced the launch of the 20th edition of its Annual Summer Internship Program, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to youth development and supporting the growth of future Bahraini talent through practical learning experiences designed to prepare students for the evolving demands of today’s professional and business environment.
This year’s program welcomes 50 university students from leading local and international academic institutions and will run from 1 July until 31 August 2026. As one of the Bank’s flagship talent development initiatives, the annual program continues to provide students with valuable professional exposure and hands-on workplace experience within Bahrain’s dynamic banking and financial services sector.
The program will begin with a dedicated Induction Week, during which participating students will be introduced to the Bank’s various departments through a series of awareness and orientation sessions designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Bank’s operating structure, core business functions, and overall organizational environment. Following this phase, participants will transition into on-the-job training placements, where they will work alongside teams across different departments and gain direct practical exposure to day-to-day operational and business functions.
Designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical industry experience, the Summer Internship Program enables students to strengthen their professional capabilities, develop workplace readiness, and gain valuable insight into the standards, discipline, and collaborative culture required within the banking and financial services sector. The initiative reflects the Bank’s continued focus on investing in human capital development and preparing young talent to contribute meaningfully to Bahrain’s future economy.
Commenting on the launch of the program, Muna Al Balooshi, Chief Human Resources Officer at Al Salam Bank, said: “At Al Salam Bank, we believe that empowering young talent and investing in future generations remains an essential part of building a sustainable and competitive workforce for the future. Through our Annual Summer Internship Program, we aim to provide students with practical workplace experience that extends beyond academic learning by exposing them to real business environments, professional mentorship, and meaningful learning opportunities. As we mark the twentieth edition of this program, we remain committed to supporting the development of young Bahraini talent by equipping students with the knowledge, confidence, and practical experience needed to succeed in their future careers.”
As one of the Bank’s long-standing development initiatives, the Annual Summer Internship Program reflects Al Salam Bank’s broader commitment to creating meaningful community impact through education, youth development, and talent empowerment. Through initiatives such as this, the Bank continues to contribute to the development of a highly capable future generation prepared to support Bahrain’s long-term economic growth and the continued advancement of the Kingdom’s financial sector.
