BCFC Embraces Bahrain’s Digital Future with eKey 2.0

Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company (BCFC) has announced the successful adoption of eKey 2.0, Bahrain’s advanced national digital identity solution, marking a key step in its digital transformation efforts. The move coincides with the second anniversary of the Sahel App and the launch of the Bulk KYC service.

The integration of eKey 2.0 enables customers to access BCFC services through passwordless biometric facial authentication and streamlines onboarding processes through electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) data retrieval. The company said the initiative enhances convenience while maintaining high standards of security and data protection.

Mohamed Jehad Bukamal, Deputy CEO of BCFC, said the adoption of eKey 2.0 reflects the company’s commitment to innovation, security and customer-centric services. He noted that the platform supports seamless digital experiences while contributing to Bahrain’s vision for a secure and advanced financial ecosystem.

Dr. Khaled Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Deputy Chief Executive for Operations and Governance at the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), welcomed BCFC’s entry into the eKey 2.0 ecosystem, describing it as a strategic step toward strengthening secure digital services and improving customer experience.

He said the initiative demonstrates the private sector’s support for Bahrain’s digital transformation agenda, while helping expand the national digital identity verification infrastructure, facilitate access to services, enhance regulatory compliance and strengthen trust in digital transactions.

Chris Hild, CEO of Beyon Connect, said BCFC’s adoption of eKey 2.0 highlights the role of trusted digital identity solutions in delivering secure, seamless and customer-focused financial services. He added that the collaboration supports the continued development of Bahrain’s digital ecosystem.

BCFC said the adoption of eKey 2.0, together with the Sahel App milestone and the launch of the Bulk KYC service, reinforces its commitment to leveraging technology to improve customer experiences and support Bahrain’s leadership in digital innovation.
