Bapco Energies reinforces commitment to advancing women in energy sector

Mark Thomas, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bapco Energies—the integrated company leading the energy transition in the Kingdom of Bahrain —extended his warmest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain; His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, on the occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day.
Mr. Thomas emphasized that Bahraini Women’s Day is a national occasion to celebrate the achievements and enduring contributions of Bahraini women across all fields—particularly in the energy industry, where women have held an essential and growing presence since the 1970s. He highlighted the many success stories and exemplary female professionals who continue to shape a culture of e x - cellence, innovation, and creativity across the sector.
He expressed deep appreciation for the leadership of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa and for the Supreme Council for Women’s continued efforts to empower women through the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women 2025–2026. The plan’s priorities—family stability, participation in decision-making, economic engagement, and quality of life—align closely with Bapco Energies’ values and long-term strategic direction.
“At Bapco Energies, supporting women is a central pillar of our organizational priorities,” Mr. Thomas stated. “We believe in fostering a stable and supportive work environment that empowers women to balance professional and family responsibilities, while strengthening their presence in leadership roles and on boards.”
