Bits of What I Have screening today

Shooting a movie needs more than just a big budget, the latest equipment and the fanciest sets, it also requires dedication, hard work and commitment.

Saleh Sharif, the director of Bits of What I Have, wrote about the story and script before he departed along with his production team to Turkey to shoot the film.

Bits of What I Have is about an old man who is a well-known writer working on his last novel unable to complete his book due to the bitterness towards the world and people after losing his wife and daughter.

The other protagonist is a young 24-year-old man, who is all about living life and happens to be a teacher in a school teaching children English literature and tries to inspire his students.

Saleh explained that during his four weeks of preparations in Istanbul recently in August, he met Turkish actors and crew members who are experienced and willing to help and act for free.

Speaking to DT News, Saleh Sharif explained: “We needed to make something easy and cheap and yet something that would reach out to people on a deeper lever. I once read a story by Nikolai Gogol and was inspired to write this kind of a story and the fact that we shot it in Turkey seemed to fit perfectly with the scene and mood of the story.”

Sales Sharif, 25, has a passion for cinema and aspires to write, and made two short films before making his first feature film Bits of What I Have.

A premiere event has been planned as part of the marketing efforts by the team behind the film. A private screening will be held for guests.

The event will be held under the patronage of Bassam Al Thawadi, director of Radio and Television, Information Affair Authority, in Seef Mall Cinema 6 of Seef 2 at 10am today.
