Indian Ambassador hails constant LMRA care for expatriate workers

Indian Ambassador to Bahrain Piyush Shrivastav has praised the care given by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) to all workers and the regulations and laws, as well as the facilities provided to investors, businessmen and workers. He stressed the keenness of India to cooperate with the authority.

This came as the LMRA CEO and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, Jamal Abdulaziz Al Alawi, received the Indian Ambassador yesterday. Al Alawi reviewed the conditions of Indian workers in Bahrain, referring to the efforts made by the Kingdom to develop laws and legislation that contribute to maintaining an appropriate work environment that provides protection for the worker while preserving the rights of the employer, praising the great role played by Indian workers in various fields.

They agreed to enhance joint work regarding the labour market and to activate bilateral committees and specialised technical work teams. Al Alawi also discussed the latest developments in the situation of investors and businessmen and the facilities provided to ease their work in the Kingdom.

He highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to raise the level of the work environment and protect work parties, noting the important role played by diplomatic missions in cooperation with government agencies to strengthen bilateral relations.
