Take Covid-19 jabs immediately, Indian Ambassador of Bahrain tells virtual Open House

Indian Ambassador, Piyush Srivastava, urged the Indian community members to get their COVID-19 jabs immediately to support Bahrain’s battle against the pandemic and “for their safety.” The ambassador also urged all those finding it difficult to register to use this link: https://forms.gle/pMT3v1g3o4yVgnES8.

The link is also available on the website and social media handles of the Indian Embassy. Speaking during a virtual Open House on Friday, Srivastava thanked Bahrain’s leadership for providing free COVID-19 vaccines to expatriates and citizens alike. During the Open House, the ambassador interacted directly with community members on resolving consular and labour issues.

Srivastava told the meeting that the COVID-19 situation in India is improving, with daily infection rates declining significantly to as low as 50,000. The government of India, he said, is also aggressively pursuing vaccination with daily doses administered ranging between 6 to 8 million.

The ambassador also thanked the Indian community members and various association for their active participation in the International Day of Yoga 2021 celebrations held virtually.

Ambassador Srivastava informed the forum participants that the Embassy, with the support of Indian associations, intervened and helped 1,500 Indian nationals stuck in Bahrain to continue their journey to Saudi Arabia.

Indian Embassy’s intervention, Srivastava said, also resulted in six Indian seafarers stranded at Bahrain International Airport for more than 24 hours, travelling safely to their destinations.

The ambassador also assured that the Embassy, in close coordination with Indian associations, is working to ensure food, accommodation and safe repatriation for community members.

A statement also announced resolving most of the issues that came up during the Open House and that the Embassy will resolve others soon.
