Tamkeen-trained graphic designers graduate
Tamkeen held a graduation ceremony for the second group of young Bahrainis who enrolled in Tamkeen’s graphic design training programme. The graduates were employed in a number of businesses and organisations.
The programme aims to prepare 50 young Bahrainis for a career in the media sector, in line with Tamkeen’s efforts to develop the skills and capabilities of Bahrainis according to labour market needs and further their contribution the national economy.
The 17 graduates in this year’s class increases the total number of Bahrainis training through the programme to 33. The third and final group of Bahrainis commenced their training in May.
The course consists of six months of intensive theoretical training followed by two-month internships in a number of media companies and organisations in the country.
Commenting on the announcement, Amal Al Kooheji, Tamkeen’s Chief Operating officer, said:Tamkeen works on supporting Bahraini’s individuals to achieve their goals in various key sectors in Bahrain, amongst which is the graphic design training programme, which proved its effectiveness year after year, as the some of the past graduates of the programme managed to secure permanent positions with notable media companies, while others went on freelance basis.
