Education Minister endorses online learning, continuous assessment mechanism

Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, has approved an edict regulating remote learning and its assessment mechanisms.

The edict stipulates that all public schools shall adopt online education during the suspension of studying to ensure that the educational process is not affected, as well as the students’ continuous learning.

The schools were also requested to adopt the exceptional assessment system during this period and ensure the students’ right to education and learning, as well as to link learning with continuous assessment in order to qualify students to pass to higher grades.

Teachers shall mark the assignments they give to students online and keep a record of their documents.

It is to be noted that the Ministry of Education has provided many means to assess the students, according to their different needs. In addition to online assessment, students may email their assignments, send them through WhatsApp or even report to schools to present paper answers.
