Coast guards rescue marine excavator crew

The Coast Guard vessels assisted and provided the required support to a marine excavator with nine crews on board after encountering a water leakage caused by a technical fault in the pumps. Coast Guard Commander, Major General Alaa Siyadi announced the rescue operation, adding that no injuries were reported.

“Four vessels were deployed to the scene immediately after the case was reported. The rescue team controlled the situation with the backup of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force.” “The excavator was moved to a shallow area, and the technicians fixed a pump, and the leak was partially controlled.”

The Coast Guard Commander said that after coordination with concerned bodies, the initial investigation revealed that lack of commitment to the safety instructions was the reason behind the accident.
