Bahrain, Iraq boost bilateral relations

BaghdadBahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, who is on an official visit here, met Dr. Haider Al Abadi, the Prime Minister of Iraq, Dr. Fuad Masum, President, and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, Minister of Foreign Affairs, yesterday.

Shaikh Khalid conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister and His Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to the three leaders and wishes of success to the Republic of Iraq.

Shaikh Khalid praised the brotherly ties between Bahrain and Iraq and the keenness to expand the frameworks of cooperation and joint coordination between the two brotherly countries in all fields for the wellbeing of its people.

Dr. Haider Al-Abadi stressed the pride of the Republic of Iraq in the brotherly relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is based on a long history of relations between the two brotherly peoples that form a solid basis to strengthen these relations at various levels.

He stressed that the stability of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its brotherly countries is the stability of the Republic of Iraq, noting the need for joint Arab action in the face of various challenges.

He expressed his sincere appreciation for the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.

Shaikh Khalid praised the Iraqi government’s continued efforts to combat terrorism, which has achieved significant success in liberating the city of Mosul from ISIS.
