Bahrain citizens in UK warned against attacks

ManamaBahrain Embassy in London has warned Bahraini citizens living in the UK of increasing acid attacks, advising them to avoid walking in alleys and dark areas and to remain vigilant.

The warning was posted on the official Twitter account of the embassy and foreign Affairs Ministry yesterday. “Considering the increasing robberies and assaults using liquid substances such as acid in different tourist attractions in London, the embassy advises visiting and resident Bahraini citizens to remain vigilant and to keep away from walking in alleys and dark areas, and to also avoid carrying valuable belongings in public,” the statement read.

The embassy called upon citizens to immediately inform the police on 999 in case of any attacks or emergencies and to contact the embassy on+447773377222.

According to British media, moped gang crimes in London have been noticeably increasing in the past two years, with an average of 22 attacks reported a day.

Several attack cases by motorcyclists were reported last week using unidentified burning liquid. Many have joined protests and demonstrations in the British capital, demanding the authorities to stop the increasing moped crimes and acid attacks.
