Saar Secondary Girls School wins Trade Quest first place

ManamaSaar Secondary Girls School emerged as the winner of the TradeQuest Programme, organised by Bahrain Bourse,  competing against 10 top teams in the Kingdom to win the BD5,000 reward from Abdulkareem Bucheery, Chairman of Bahrain Bourse. 

Al Istiqlal Secondary Girls School and Khawla Secondary Girls School grabbed the second and third positions, by winning BD3,000 and BD2,000, respectively.  

The final TradeQuest Awards Ceremony was held on 6 May 2017 in the presence of students and their families, senior representatives from sponsoring organisations, other invited guests, as well as the officials of the Bourse.

TradeQuest is a simulated business-education partnership programme geared to provide high school students close-to-life experience in the stock markets, with a focus on understanding the rules and regulations, the analysis and selection of stocks, and portfolio management for equities listed on NYSE and BHB.

The ten school teams participated in the contest includes: Ahmed Al Omran Secondary Boys School, Al Istiqlal Secondary Girls School, Al Hidd Secondary Girls School, Al Noor Secondary Girls School, Khawla Secondary Girls School, Al Ta’awon Secondary Boys School, Al Muharraq Secondary Boys School, Jidhafs Secondary Girls School, Saar Secondary Girls School and Isa Town Secondary Boys School.

“This confirms the success of the Bourse’s strategy in spreading investment awareness among the students, which we will expand in the coming years,” said Abdul Kareem Bucheery the Chairman of Bahrain Bourse praising the huge participation in the 2016/1017 contests. 

Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Bourse Sh. Khalifa Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa said that TradeQuest forms one of the essential pillars of the Bourse’s strategy raising investment awareness among high school and university students.

“The TradeQuest programme targets high school students and provides them with the opportunity to implement the theoretical knowledge they learn about the stock markets and widens up their understanding of the financial services sector in Bahrain. This programme also focuses on soft skills such as presentation skills and teamwork building,” he added.
