‘This is Bahrain’ roadshow to be made into a movie

ManamaThis is Bahrain’, the international roadshow held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, showcasing Bahrain’s cultural diversity, will soon become a movie. 

This was announced by Betsy B Mathieson, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Federation of Expatriate Associations (BFEA), at the official launch of  the roadshow held at Four Seasons Hotel in the presence of Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan, yesterday. 

“There is nothing so powerful as a true story and the movie  ‘This is Bahrain’ will be able to showcase this.  The movie ‘This is Bahrain’ will be filmed here in Bahrain featuring Bahraini as well as expatriate artistes who will share their stories.

The movie will be released worldwide and featured at film festivals around the world,” Betsy said.

“Our communities have beautiful, powerful and heart-rending stories to share and it is our hope that the movie will inspire others to follow Bahrain’s centuries-old example of religious freedom, peaceful co-existence, mutual respect and most importantly, love,” Betsy said. “We are aware that we have a wealth of highly talented and creative people in Bahrain so if anyone would like to be involved in the movie we would love to hear from you,” she said.

“With the blessing of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, we will also set up a social club which will function as the headquarters of ‘This is Bahrain’, the cultural jamboree. The club will be open to all communities where we can host guests from abroad, who will be able to see for themselves all of the achievements in Bahrain, witness the harmonious community spirit and of course experience the warmth of the legendary Bahraini hospitality,” siad Betsy. 

‘This is Bahrain’ international roadshow have showcased the Kingdom around the world with the most recent event being held in Rome, Italy.

The latest show was a very special edition as it culminated in a world first, The King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Chair in Inter-Faith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence at La Sapienza University in Rome. 

“The Kingdom of Bahrain is truly a welfare state and we are eternally grateful to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Leadership for all their care, concern and compassion for our communities,” she added.

Peace, harmony hallmark of Bahrain: Humaidan

People in Bahrain live in peace and harmony, regardless of their origins and social beliefs, said Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan, at the launch of ‘This is Bahrain’.

“I would like to express the appreciation of His Majesty the King for your great love and concern, as well as your excellent contributions to show the world the real image and facts about Bahrain,” he said.

“Bahrain has always been committed to high levels of security, civil services and protection of rights for all people living on its land,” he said adding, in the light of the directives of the leadership of Bahrain, the Kingdom has achieved advanced levels in the protection of labour and civil rights, as well as freedom for religious practices. 

“We shall always endeavour to keep Bahrain as the best place to work, invest and live in great social harmony,” he added.
