Drug peddlers’ remand extended

Manama

Three Asian nationals involved in a drug peddling case were remanded in custody for another 15 days. The trio was apprehended after officers received a tip off about a man selling heroin in a new method.

The accused reportedly requested customers to transfer money to an account in Pakistan, and once that was done, guided them to the place where he left their orders.

Investigation revealed the first accused usually stashed drugs in a place located in Hidd.

Police got their first breakthrough when undercover agents nabbed a customer after spotting him collecting drugs stashed beside a house.

He admitted to police officers that he was directed to the place by the first accused to receive drugs after transferring money to Pakistan.

Officers then discovered the first accused's home and raided it.

Police arrested the other two accused in the raid, and it was learned they were abetting him.
