SCW measures boost family stability

As part of its jurisdiction to propose new laws to boost women's status, the Supreme Council of Women (SCW), along with all the relevant official bodies continues to exert efforts to alleviate the onus of living from Bahraini women and their children.
It also ensures women's rights and prevents any discrimination against them.
The SCW has accomplished a great deal for women in terms of legislations and amendments related to passports, civil and commercial law, marital alimony, Sharia court procedures, pre-marriage medical checkup, citizenship and naturalization.
SCW has also addressed to issues related to social insurance, labour law, inheritance, housing, employment, education, equal opportunity, medical care, ID card, and driving licensure.
The Women Support Centre affiliated to the SCW continuously monitors and provides women's requirements in compliance with the Kingdom's Constitution.
It also provides international conventions regarding free psychological guidance, spousal reconciliation, counseling and legal assistance in civil lawsuits.
