Improving patient care

ManamaCareworks’, ahospital management system, which promises to make life easier for patients, doctors, as well as the hospital management is all set to be launched in Bahrain.

The system connects patients with the hospital and its doctors with the help of a smartphone application.

“The app gives the patients a number of benefits, including the ability to schedule an appointment with a doctor,” explained Exelon Solutions Managing Director Mohammed Mansoor. He said that once launched, the app will be the first-of-its-kind in Bahrain.

“The patients can book appointments at home or wherever they are. They can also confirm their appointment as the doctor will also have the same application on his device,” said Sofscript Director Ajay Sheth.

“Another benefit is that the patient need not bring physical copies of their medical history as the doctor can access it through the app. It also helps the nurses, she can see how-many patients are in the hospital and who they are,” he said.

Mansoor said that a prominent hospital in Bahrain has already signed up for the service. “We will soon be announcing our first client in Bahrain,” he said, while revealing plans to extend the app to other GCC countries.

The app is a product of India-based Sofscript and will be distributed in Bahrain by Exelon Solutions.
