Two Suspects Referred to Court in Human Trafficking Case

The Public Prosecution has completed its investigations into a human trafficking case and has referred two suspects to the High Criminal Court. The trial is scheduled to begin on June 29, 2025.

According to a statement by the Head of the Anti-Human Trafficking Prosecution, the case came to light following a report from the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence. The report alleged that the two suspects had trafficked two victims by exploiting them for forced labor.

Investigations revealed that the victims were deceived with promises of legitimate job opportunities. However, upon arrival, they were forced to work in unrelated jobs without pay. The suspects also allegedly coerced the victims—both physically and psychologically—into engaging in immoral activities in exchange for money.

Upon receiving the report, the Public Prosecution launched an immediate investigation. The victims were interviewed, and police investigations supported their testimonies. After reviewing the evidence and hearing from the officers involved, the Prosecution ordered the suspects to stand trial before the criminal court.

The case marks a serious reminder of the importance of combating human trafficking and protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
