Bahrain jails minors for rioting
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced minors accused of rioting to three years each behind bars.
They were nabbed in connection with a sabotage that occurred on June 12 last year in the village of Dair.
The accused, along with some unidentified people, reportedly set furniture and tyres on fire, before attacking police officers with firebombs, stones and iron rods.
Prosecutors said that the defendants aimed at spreading violence.
The duo was arrested as they were trying to flee after the riot.
They were reportedly wearing black masks and two witnesses confirmed seeing them pelting Molotov cocktails.
The court stated that they were given mercy sentences, considering their age.
