LMRA suit : father, son free

Manama : The Lower Criminal Court has acquitted an Indian businessman of employing a person (his son) without permission.

The accused was sent for trial after an inspector from the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA)  spotted the son sitting on his father’s chair in the company.

Both, the father and his son were charged in connection with this case, with the latter being indicted of working without the necessary permission.

“Although my client’s son told the inspector that he was waiting for his father, the inspector recorded a violation,” the businessman’s lawyer said.

The court stating that the son’s presence at the company was rational as it was owned by his parents.
