Crown Prince lauds Bahrain-Russia ties

Manama : Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the broad range of cooperation between Bahrain and Russia that formed the foundations of bilateral relations between the two countries.

During his meeting with the Governor of the Russian city of Saint Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko and his accompanying delegation, at Gudaibiya Palace here yesterday, Prince Salman also noted the productive exchange of visits between Bahrain and Russia.

Pointing out the recent visit to Russia by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to meet President Vladimir Putin, HRH Crown Prince stressed the importance of pursuing and supporting the agreements signed during the visits, which contribute to further strengthening cooperation across various sectors. 

The meeting also included discussions on strengthening security cooperation to combat terrorism. The Crown Prince assured Bahrain’s support to all constructive efforts to maintain security, and noted Russia’s continued role in this regard.

Meanwhile, Poltavchenko welcomed Prince Salman’s support in strengthening cooperation with Saint Petersburg through the existing Bahrain-Russia ties. Governor of the Capital governorate Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, was also present.
