Bahrain Drives GCC Push for Smarter Industry

GCC officials discuss industrial investment, localization, AI and deeper integration ahead of Bahrain’s Made in the Gulf 2026 forum.

H.E. Ms. Eman Ahmed Al Doseri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, chaired the 49th Preparatory Meeting of the GCC Committee of Industry Undersecretaries, held virtually with the participation of industry undersecretaries from GCC countries.

The meeting focused on strengthening industrial integration and competitiveness across the Gulf, while promoting industrial investment, localization and the adoption of advanced technologies.

Officials also discussed ways to expand the use of innovation and artificial intelligence across the industrial sector as part of efforts to support its development.

During the meeting, Al Doseri highlighted the first edition of the Made in the Gulf 2026 Forum and Exhibition, which Bahrain will host in October.

The event is expected to provide a platform to showcase GCC industrial capabilities, highlight investment opportunities and encourage partnerships and greater integration across industrial value chains.

Al Doseri also thanked the GCC countries’ working teams for their support and cooperation in preparing for the event, saying their efforts reflect the spirit of GCC cooperation and integration.
