Drunken party leads to man’s death

Argument between two men prompts one to push other man downstairs

A drunken orgy involving three friends prompted one of them to push his friend downstairs resulting in his death, according to court documents. He died of the injuries he sustained due to the fall on March 24 this year.

It happened after an argument between them snowballed into a fracas when the victim demanded the accused to discontinue his relationship with his mistresses. The irate accused shoved the victim, who landed on his head and died on the spot. 

The trio were said to have been drinking alcoholic beverage together in Adliya. On the night of the incident, they reportedly went to an abandoned house after the victim felt exhausted.

After his death, the duo dragged the victim to a room before the third man reportedly robbed his mobile phone and sold it for only BD2 to buy liquor.

During investigations, the two denounced each other in an effort to elude trial. The first defendant has been charged with murdering the victim, while the other accused was indicted to robbery only.

They pleaded not guilty before the High Criminal Court, which adjourned their trial until September 8.
