FOREVER, AL AMEED PLAY OUT A DRAW

In the second round of matches in Group C of the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and the eighth edition of Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 8), Forever and Al Ameed played to a 2-2 draw last night at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.
Al Ameed opened the scoring in the fifth minute through Ali Misad, only for Saudi professional Jassim Al Hamdan to equalise for Forever in the 33rd minute after slotting home a penalty.
In the 52nd minute Mohammed Mahmood put Al Ameed ahead for the second in the match, Al Hamdan scored his second goal for Forever in the 58th minute to give them a share of the points.
Tonight the second round of Group D matches are scheduled with United Youth playing Al Nuwayef at 5.45pm, followed at 8pm by Gunners United and Cobra.
The event is being held under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The football tournament concludes on July 3 and three other sports - volleyball, basketball and handball are also being played.
Meanwhile preparations are ongoing for the volleyball tournament which gets underway on June 24 and concludes on June 30 and features six teams - the under-21 club teams of Dar Kulaib, Muharraq, Al Nasr, Al Najma, Bani Jamra and Bahrain National Juniors, with all matches played at the Bahrain Volleyball Association in Isa Town.
The basketball will be played at the Bahrain Basketball Association in Umm Al Hassam and concludes on 1 July and handball takes place at the Bahrain Handball Association in Umm Al Hassam and concludes on June 23.
