Bahrain company ordered to settle dues

ManamaThe Labour Court has ordered a company to pay its European national ex-Manager BD12,000 after failing to settle her monthly salary for several months.

The plaintiff was said to have been recruited by the company in 2010, and was awarded a five-year-contract with a monthly wage of BD2,050.

However, according to court files, the company stopped depositing the monthly salary of the plaintiff, prompting her to resign and file a lawsuit against her employer.

She demanded her salaries to be paid and to receive a compensation for her unpaid annual leave, end of service benefit and an experience certificate as well as flight tickets to her country.

The court said that the employer failed to provide any evidence clearing the company of settling the salaries as well as the dues of the plaintiff. So the court ruled for the company to pay the plaintiff BD12,000.
