Bahrain to host 1st West Asian Junior Athletics Championships
Manama: First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of West Asian Athletics Federation and President of Bahrain Athletic Association HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa chaired today the first meeting of the supreme organizing committee of the 1st West Asian Junior Athletics Championships, which will be hosted by Bahrain.
Secretary-General of Bahrain Olympic Committee Abdulrahman Askar was present.
SCYS First Deputy President urged to mobilize efforts to make the event successful and to accentuate Bahrain's capability of hosting international events.
He praised all national cadres after their outstanding success of hosting the Arab men and women’s championship last year, as well as the Asian Cross Country Championships last February.
He took pride in hosting the 1st West Asian Junior Athletics Championships in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which reflects Bahrain’s keenness to further develop the field and track sport, wishing the participants every success.
