HRH Premier highlights ongoing humanitarian situation

Manama: Taking up the cudgels for the displaced people in the war-torn countries, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa pointed out that the causes of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in some countries had to be assessed immediately.

“The on-going chaos, anarchy and instability have left the people of these countries high and dry. They became homeless and were forced to leave their own countries,” Prince Khalifa remarked during his meeting with the Commander of US Naval Forces Central Command, Vice Admiral Kevin Donegan at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.

HRH Premier praised the role played by the US, alongside allied and friendly countries, to maintain security and stability in the region, combating terrorism and serving global peace issues.

Prince Khalifa recalled the steady progress of the Bahrain-US relations throughout history in various fields, including the military and defence ones. The Prime Minister stressed Bahrain’s keenness on enhancing the deep-rooted bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation with the US.

HRH the Prime Minister reviewed with the Commander of the U.S Naval Forces Central Command the regional and international developments, calling for the need to step up cooperation in order to achieve regional stability. “The positive results of stability and prosperity in the region would benefit everyone,” Prince Khalifa commented.

HRH Premier also highlighted the aspirations of the people of the region to make their region the best in the world in terms of security, development and progress.

Meanwhile, Donegan lauded Bahrain’s development strides, expressing pride in the Kingdom’s constant readiness to cooperate with the international Community to promote security and stability.
