Bahrain to host regional meeting

The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) will host the fifteenth meeting of the Middle East Regional Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Group (MIDANPIRG/15) this week from June 8 to 11.
The meeting will discuss topics including air traffic management in the Middle East region, search and rescue, flight information and communication, navigation, surveillance systems, meteorology, aeronautical information systems, and safety reports prepared by the Regional the Middle East Regional Monitoring Agency, chaired and hosted by the Kingdom.
HR Ahmed AlNemah, Acting Under Secretary for Civil Aviation Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) said, "We expect to see strong representation from all of the countries in the region and a few from outside the region, and international organizations involved in planning and implementation of Air Navigation systems at this important meeting.
"The topics that are set to be discussed at the meeting are all in support of implementing the air navigation strategy developed as per the ICAO Global Air Navigation Plan. Bahrain has exceptional strength in this field gained from over 60 years’ experience in the region, dating back to the 1950s. The Middle East region is one of the most important regions in the international aviation industry and Bahrain has always been considered the link between East and West," he said.
