Checkpoint attack: 10 men get 10 years in jail
Manama: The High Criminal Court sentenced 10 men to 10 years behind bars for attacking a police checkpoint in Sitra on March 16 last year.
A police officer was injured in the assault and the culprits are said to have used firebombs.
According to the medical report, the victim suffered burn injury to his face, neck and right hand’s fingers.
A police vehicle was also damaged in the incident.
The defendants’ links to the incident was revealed during police investigations.
They were charged with injuring an on duty police officer, damaging public property and participating in an illegal gathering as well as possessing firebombs.
