Democracy is mutual respect of views
Manama: Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said democracy is the mutual respect of different opinions and views, adding that attempts to disrupt workflow under the pretext of practising freedom is considered a crime.
Pointing out that vandalism wearing the mantel of democracy is terrorism, HRH Premier stressed that taking advantage of the State services for terrorist and subversive purposes is a crime that will not be tolerated.
“Its perpetrators must be dealt with accordingly,” remarked Prince Khalifa while receiving Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh, and Representatives and Shura members, in the presence of former Speaker of the Representatives Council, Khalifa Al Dahrani, and senior officials at Gudaibiya Palace here yesterday.
HRH Premier called for preserving national unity and safe and stable atmosphere and urged for pushing forward efforts to enhance the homeland’s progress and prosperity. HRH the Prime Minister added that differences in views regarding national action must not conflict with the national interest.
During the meeting, Prince Khalifa also commended the cooperation between the legislative and executive branches for the support of the national economy amid the international economic developments.
HRH Premier noted that the measures taken to deal with those challenges had been undergone extensive consideration to ease the impact on citizen-related matters.
