Al Rahma praises the distinctive role of BOC

Member of Parliament Ghazi Al Rahma has praised the distinctive role of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), headed by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President, to improve the National Sports Medicine Centre services provided to athletes and the public.

Al Rahma asserted the efforts of the committee to transform the centre into a sports medicine hospital to ensure the best possible health treatment for the athletes and helping the Kingdom to become a destination for medical tourism.

He noted that the opening of the first specialized clinic at the centre under the supervision of Dr Francisco Chapman from Cuba is the first step in the committee’s plan to become one of the best medical centres in the region in the near future.

“Sports medicine has great significance in protecting athletes from sports injuries, besides the analysis and treatment part, while helping the athletes to recover and return to the field,” said Al Rahma.
