A Roof Over Every Family
More than 50 families in the Northern Governorate have seen their homes repaired or protected against harsh weather conditions as part of ongoing efforts to improve housing for low-income households.
Councillor Abdulla Mubarak Belal Al Qubaisi said 52 homes in the ninth constituency benefited from repair and rain-insulation projects since December 2022, while a further 10 houses were restored through contributions from private donors.
The projects were carried out under the Towns and Villages Development programme by the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, with the aim of creating safer and more sustainable homes for eligible families.
According to municipal work records, 16 homes underwent maintenance and restoration works, including repairs following fire damage, while 36 properties received rain insulation to protect them from weather-related damage.
The housing improvement drive remains ongoing, with additional requests being processed. One project is currently under implementation, another is nearing the tender award stage, and three rain-insulation requests are undergoing technical and administrative procedures before work begins.
Al Qubaisi highlighted the role of community support in expanding the impact of these efforts, noting that private donors helped restore 10 additional homes for families in need.
He praised the cooperation between government authorities and community members, describing it as an example of Bahrain’s culture of social responsibility and solidarity.
